Regina Airport Transfer Guide (2026) - All Options & Tips
Transfer from Regina International Airport to downtown, with helpful tips to avoid common scams and guidance for checking current prices before you book.
Regina International sits just west of downtown, so the transfer is short. Taxis operate from the terminal, and car rental is the practical default for exploring the prairies.
We have not yet verified how travellers currently reach Regina from the airport serving it, so we are not publishing routes, operators or fares we cannot stand behind. For what is running on the day you travel, the arrivals information published by your arrival airport is the reliable source, and your accommodation will usually know what works best for the hour you land.

Helpful Tips
Uber runs in Regina. It is usually the smartest call. City buses thin out after rush hour.
Download the Transit app or open Google Maps. Track Regina Transit in real time. Plan routes across the city.
Regina International Airport (YQR) is minutes from downtown. A rideshare or taxi is quick. No shuttle needed.
Regina is flat and laid out on a grid. Cycling works well for downtown hops. The pathway network links key spots without heavy traffic.
Common Scams to Avoid
Unofficial drivers may intercept you inside the terminal before the official taxi rank. This happens at smaller Canadian airports, including YQR. Keep walking. Use the marked ground-transport zone. Choose metered or pre-booked licensed cars. Avoid surprise flat rates.
At smaller airports, rental counters love to push collision waivers and fuel plans. They may call them mandatory. This is common across Canada, not just Regina. Check your credit card coverage before you queue. Decline extras already handled.
Airport currency desks give poor rates. Banks and city ATMs beat them every time. Use a card with no foreign fees or hit a bank ATM downtown. Your dollars stretch further.
